Good evening dear OLF brothers and sisters, i'm begging you all to please have prayers for a friend of mine, his name is Jean-Guy, he had a stroke last year and was recovering slowly from that but he learned yesterday he has something to the brain, tumor, that's not going to be operable or should i say won't be removed with surgery because too risky. According to the doctor's verdict, he would only have 6-8 months left to live.

I've known him first as one of our tenants and he quickly became a friend, a very kind hearted man who always puts others first and himself last. I thought that our joined faith and prayers could help him heal if you don't mind, it really would be appreciated.

Thanks for your comprehension

Serge

Thanks Jim, i promised Jean-Guy i would put him on our prayer list here, that the OLF people were caring and it seemed to have done him good to hear that, as you can imagine, he was depressed when i first saw him tonight, but after i left, he found the courage to call his children. Thank you bro.

Thanks folks,i knew i could count on my OLF family for immediate strenght and support and i'm really touched by your compassion, what i hope the most for him right now is that he turns his attention more towards his own faith so he doesn't spend all his days and nights in fear, he went through lots more than what's written above so i thought that me alone was not strong enough .

He was always supportive of me in my beginnings in guitar making and you should have seen his eyes when i showed him all the new jigs i had made , if there was anyone he could help or cheer up, he was there so in all fairness, i think that if the good Lord decides for Jean-Guy to leave, i just hope that his last stretch will be a peaceful one and if The Lord decides he stays, that his health improves very significantly, we do need more people like him.

Thank you more than you'll ever knowSerge Poirier38792.2960185185

You've got it, Serge. We'll be praying for him and you. It takes a lot of strength for a friend to deal with a situation like this, too.

Serge,

My family and I as well as our church will keep Jean-Guy on our prayer list. For Jean-Guy tell him this is how I have prayed for him:

Engendrez, nous prions pour le Jean-Guy et demandons que vous lui accordez la grace et la paix dans ce temps. Nous ne savons pas pourquoi les choses ont disparu comment elles ont mais nous savons qu'il est dans des vos mains.

S'il soit dans votre volonte pour le guerir puis nous demandons celui mais si vous avez un plus grand but que nous ne savons pas qu'alors nous demandons que vous rendez cette fois plus precieuse en donnant une paix et un repos qui peuvent seulement venir de vous.

Amen

My french is poor but knowing that he is Quebecois I felt it better for him to know how it is that he was prayed for...

Serge, thanks for inviting us to pray for your good friend Jean-Guy. I like the part about him preferring others before himself. People notice things like that about folks.

We'll be praying and I too will add him to our church prayer list. What city in Canada is he in?

I'd like to offer some insight too on dealing with brain tumors and an alternative to "doing nothing" in the treatment department. My sister's new husband from last May was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, two months after their marriage. And he got the same information as to outcome.

I'll PM you with some information to consider offering to your friend.

Thanks Bruce and everybody who came forward to pray for Jean-guy and my family as well. Jean-Guy lives in Gatineau, apt # 516, 3 floors above mine. My wife Line and I have just finished reading all your love and prayer vows and are overwhelmed in warm emotions, this is a tremendous gathering of pure love and kindness that is really appreciated and felt at the core of our hearts and souls. what i will do, is i will print this whole thread and bring it to him tonight so he knows that even pure strangers to him are pulling together for him. i'm going to say this even though my wife advised me otherwise in the last 2 1/2 months i've been with you great folks:: I LOVE YOU ALL!

May god bless each and every single one of you and your respective families.

Serge
